Megan Bowman, CFRE, provides nearly 30 years of progressive leadership experience in the areas of nonprofit management, philanthropy, marketing, event planning, and media relations.

At the tender age of four, Megan Bowman sat on her front lawn with a group of preschoolers who were enjoying a play date. It was a balmy summer day, and the children had come together with their parents for a newspaper interview about summer plans. One by one, the reporter purposefully asked each child how they wanted to spend their summer vacation. Answers were age-appropriate and varied from pool time to play time. Megan’s answer was different, though. She said, “This summer, I want to help others and make the world a better place!” Nearly four decades later, her plans haven’t changed. Not one single bit.

Megan Bowman is owner of Bowman Development Solutions, LLC, (BDS) a boutique fundraising agency located in Atlanta. BDS was born of Megan’s personal passion to offer affordable consulting solutions to non-profit agencies and donors who wish to partner with organizations that match their personal giving interests. She offers several decades of real-world philanthropy and nonprofit management experience, working arm-in-arm with clients, both big and small, to accomplish ambitious goals that help to make communities happier, healthier places to live.

By age 26, after working in several trade associations in and around DC, Megan accepted the role of Executive Director of the American Red Cross, Prince William Chapter, in Virginia. During her tenure there, she led hundreds of paid and volunteer leaders through the 9-11 Attack on America at the Pentagon and was later awarded the prestigious Gail B. Kettlewell Leadership Award for her successful management and execution of her involvement in the charity's largest disaster response in history.

Since then, Megan has helped a variety of other clients including private libraries, animal rescue groups, children's charities, and private schools. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, is credentialed as a CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive), and carries with her both an undergraduate degree in Communications and Public Relations from George Mason University and a Master’s degree in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Management from Mason as well, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude, with honors.

Today, Megan is a busy mom raising three daughters and an active community advocate. She serves as an advisor and sits on a number of nonprofit boards, including Rescue Docs Media, an organization focused on multimedia coverage of important social causes. She advocates for charities that focus upon children's rights, human rights, and animal welfare. She is one of a very fortunate few who wakes up each day loving her work. Her natural desire to help others hasn’t wavered in the decades since that very first newspaper interview as a child. In fact, after years of witnessing her clients achieve their fundraising objectives, her passion for helping others has only grown stronger.
